Meet the author
Kristen Riecke is the author of No Matter How Small: Understanding Miscarriage and Stillbirth. She and her husband, Patrick, teamed up to bring you this resource on understanding miscarriage and stillbirth.
Grieving a Miscarriage
In October 2000, they lost their son, Stephen Daniel, to a second-trimester miscarriage. Since then, as bereaved parents and bereavement consultants, they have been honored to walk alongside hundreds of other loss parents.
Miscarriage and Stillbirth Support
Kristen has led support groups and created a volunteer program to provide in-patient support to families experiencing the death of their child. Patrick has led a hospital-based team that responded to more than 4,000 of these patient situations. They blend their voices, hearts, and years of experience to bring you this book filled with personal stories and practical advice.

Miscarriage and Stillbirth Resources
Coping with a miscarriage
From Kristen’s perspective
When my son died over 25 years ago, I worked at a library. When I returned to work, I spent my breaks combing the self-help section for anything related to pregnancy loss. Sadly, information was often confined to mere paragraphs.
I felt more unseen than ever!
We have come such a long way in awareness and conversation around these topics! I have curated these lists in my years as a bereaved mother and a bereavement consultant.
There are over 500 resources on this page!
I benefited from many of these resources, others were recommended by my colleagues and those I have served.
Bereaved parents and families deserve support!
I am forever grateful to the many courageous souls who have shared their journey with me and I’m grateful to provide this library of resources for your journey.
